Democratic Primary- March 6, 2018

General Election- Tuesday, November 6, 2018

What is the difference between a general election and a primary election ?

A primary election is an election held on March 6, 2018 by both major political parties to determine who their candidates will be in the general election on November 6, 2018.  In the primary election, you can only vote in one primary, either as a Republican or Democrat. However, in the general election, you can vote for whoever you wish based on qualifications.
